I though about this recently, since I joigned the compagny I am currently working for; this means over the past year; I took over 70 flights !
Sometimes, I feel like I spend more times outside my own country; traveling, at airports or 4* Hotels. This means to me more or less being homeless…

In the same year, I would have been six times in Israel for a total of around six weeks: yes, 1 full month and a half !
In the end, what strikes me most is that I did not even take the time to visit that country and still do not know (yet) how to speak in Hebrew.

During my last visit which was definitively not business related, I tried to spend more times to fix this but it’s for sure not that easy.

Of course I do spend some times in France, working from home too and in general, during my week ends, I am in Lille though this remains impressive.

In fact, I wish I can spend more times in Israel and/or at least feeling home there everytime I had to go there…

Oh, also, since I am talking about those trips, the gallery have not been updated with the pix I have taken during that time, this means a couple of hundreds of photos from most European countries. I will try to “disclose” them soon

You might not know this “Phenomenon” but electronic music seem to renew with popularity (mostly over the past 6 months) in France which is very good in fact from a cultural point of view (Frenchy touch) :-p

I consider this to be the continuity of what happened over the past years within the electro / house scene, meaning there is nothing brand new, except the way they danse :-), though I do like some of the tracks those guys produce now.

J’ai fait un parie avec mon Pere et donc cela n’arrivera pas avant mi-Juin mais j’ai l’intention de m’expatrier, quelque part en EMEA, car j’ai besoin de voir autre chose. 2008 sera donc definitivement l’annee du changement pour moi.

Repassez dans 6 mois si vous voulez savoir sur quelle ville j’ai jette mon devolue

Pour le moment, je vais essayer de consacrer plus de temps a ma famille et a mes amis.

In may or june last year, I bought a new worstation because my old one was dead (motherboard).

So I am currently playing with an IBM Xseries 226: Xeon 2,8Ghz ; 1Go DDR2 ; SATA HDs ; PCIe GFX card etc…
My logitech webcam now works perfectly under FreeBSD thanks to the pwcbsd driver, I still got some issues with my fresh new gamepad (Logitech Cordless Rumbled Pad 2). I need to get this one working to finish my mythtv box.

The first one: Beryl & VNC
VNC does not currently support accelerated GL rendering.
Some workarounds are though possible:
- use x11vnc with the -noxdamage switch
- take a look at virtualgl (at least since 2.0beta there is a MacOSX Intel client, nevertheless it is not part of the FreeBSD ports tree…)

The second one concerns multi-head systems:
Xinerama disables the RandR extension so Xinerama is unable to work with Beryl since it requires that extension.
Beryl (Emerald ?) is unable to manage the second head presents in my system, so I can start Xorg with 2 screens but the second one will be unusable.
As of today, you have got two options:
- at lest, dual-heading seems to work with nvidia TwinView (which offers better OpenGL performances)
- use one window manager per head (ie: run two instances of emerald)

This is currently one of my favourite clip, don’t know exactly why

After some months (nearly six…) of inactivity, [x]view is back with some news
I have upgraded wordpress (the weblog platform) to its last release, 2.1 & have added FireStats.
I am slowly mooving to a new photo gallery (atm you cannot reach it…) while the old one will still be available.
There won’t be any integration between gallery2 and wordpress since they will be hosted on different webservers ;-(
I will soon reorganise the papers/ & research/ directory to make them more user-friendly

Wahoo, during 3 weeks, so many things happen to me. Some very good, some other somewhat bad.
To start with, I spend some days in Vienna. I met Guhli, we talked about ourselves & walked down the streets. I was at JazzFest in Wiesen to listen to Parov Stellar, I met Sarah there who was really friendly. The day after, she invited me to a “private” party for a new magazine called Partisan a mag similar to “Going out” or “Out Soon” in Belgium.
When back in France, I was supposed to work but I took some times with a very good friend of mine, then I joined some other friends in Royan, just above Bordeaux. Now, we are two weeks after I left Lille, I needed some more days to think about my life & make some sport so I decided to go to Lacanau, a well-known city for surfers.
